Costume and Set Design
Andrea is a veteran of the entertainment industry with a
background in every aspect of theatre, film and television
production. She has a BFA in Theatre, with emphasis on set and
costume design, from Concordia University. Andrea worked in theatre
in Ottawa (G.C.T.C., Theatre de L'Ile, The Atelier-NAC etc.) before
switching her focus to filmmaking. As a filmmaker, Andrea has
received critical acclaim for her work producing, writing,
directing, art-directing and editing short films, documentaries,
rock videos, and industrials. Her first short film,
ALTARations, was a National Screen Institute Local
Hero, and was bought and broadcast by WTN, SCN and the
Knowledge Network. Andrea is a graduate of Toronto's Centre for
Entrepreneurship's Independent Film and Television Producers'
Program, where she established her own production company, Blinding
Flash of Light Productions. Her documentary Reality Quest,
about an actor trying to emerge from behind the mask of a popular
Sci-fi alien character, was commissioned and broadcast by
TVOntario. Andrea recently returned to school and completed her
Masters of Science in Teaching at The State University of New York.
She is thrilled to be able to indulge her love of Shakespeare in
her second season at SLSF.
