Shakespeare for all the family!
Whether you're a child of 6 or a child of 60, there's something
for you at the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival!
Over the years we've found that our outdoor amphitheatre lends
itself to a fun, informal atmosphere which helps to make the
stories we tell accessible to audiences of all ages.
We believe that it's never
too early to start exposing children to the wonderful world of
Shakespeare, with his fantastic stories, with his vibrant use of
language and with the physical comedy that so often forms part of
his story-telling.
Prescott is also an ideal spot for an overnight or a weekend
stay. With Fort Wellington close by, kids can learn first hand what
it was like to be a soldier 200 years ago. For the older kids,
scuba diving and fishing are popular pastimes along this particular
stretch of the river. And the world-famous 1000 Islands and the
nation's capital, Ottawa, are within easy driving distance.
Want something different for the kids to do this summer?
Why not consider our week-long Young Artists Training Program?
Each year, students aged 13 and up participate in workshops
covering voice, improv, stage combat and yes, even Shakespeare!
Taught by professionals from the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival
Ensemble, this is a great way for them to learn in a fun and
inspiring environment. Learn more about the
program.
So pack up your picnic, enjoy our beautiful riverside setting
and make the most of what Prescott has to offer for your and your
family!
