General Auditions 2023
"Speak the speech, I pray you.”
The St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival are holding General Auditions in Toronto & Ottawa for their 2023 season. Professional actors interested in working in Prescott are invited to submit.
Candidates should have a strong handle on Shakespearean text and be able to work outdoors during a variety of weather conditions. We work in a large outdoor amphitheatre without microphones, so strong voice production and speech clarity is important.
Skills in puppetry, movement and the ability to play hand-held instruments will be considered an asset.
Auditions will be held in Toronto on February 1st, and 2nd, from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm. Auditions in Ottawa will be held on February 19th. The contract runs from June 5 - August 5. SLSF is an "F" House.
Candidates are asked to prepare:
-
Two contrasting monologues, one from Shakespeare and the other of your choice.
