POSITION: PRODUCTION ASSISTANT 1

START DATE: July 11th, 2022 DURATION: 6 weeks

WAGE: $15.50/hour x 35 hours/week LOCATION: Prescott, ON

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Production Assistant assists the Artistic Director and Site Coordinator to ensure the smooth operation of the production side of the Festival.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working with the Artistic Director, Production Manager, and General Manager, primary responsibilities of the Production Assistant include:

• Acts as running crew for The 39 Steps (Running crew duties  - power the scene changes, prop handoffs and onstage “magic”. Also  moving scenic units, striking and setting of props on stage)

• Provides labour as required for the setup and tear down of mainstage productions on a daily basis

• Assist Artistic Director and Site Coordinator as needed

• Responsible for executing Stage Management assigned tasks during rehearsal and performances

• Assist with costume care

• other production duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS necessary for the successful performance of the position include:

• between the ages of 18 and 30 (Canada Summer Jobs Program)

• some skills in woodworking, power tools and or other technical theatre practice an asset

• demonstrated interest in the performing arts

• interpersonal and collaborative skills

• self‐direction and ability to take initiative in a dynamic work environment

• ability to prioritize work, problem solve and manage numerous tasks simultaneously

• comfortable working outdoors, available to work evenings and weekends
