In these difficult times, we are launching our Safe Harbour Fundraising Campaign. We feel the Festival is like a ship that needs to be steered through these rough pandemic waters.
This is not to say we are downhearted. We remain optimistic about our future. As an open-air venue, our Festival will return sooner than most.
However, in this new COVID-19 world, we know there will be a lot of extra costs when we return. The need to install all the safety measures and protocols to protect our audiences and theatre artists will be essential.
We, at the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival, are reaching out to you, our loyal supporters. Like all theatre companies, we have had to put on hold our program for the 2020 season. We were heartbroken to tell our cast and crew that they could not come to Prescott this summer. Our hope is they will return in 2021.
Despite all this bleak news, these strange times have given us a wonderful opportunity to examine areas where our internal operations could be improved and old systems updated.
So now, we need you, our supporters, near and far, to help us keep the Festival alive and ready to spring into action when the time comes, as surely it will.
With your support, the Festival can:
• Cover our day to day operating costs
• Create online content for audiences as in our upcoming Prescott Pandemic Tales
• Pay artists who will be contributing to SLSF events
• Implement long-needed upgrades to our operations, including new safety equipment, our office interior, accounting & data collection software and our marketing.
