It’s a splendid moon-filled night in Coley’s Point, Newfoundland in 1926. Jacob Mercer returns home, when he hears his sweetheart Mary Snow is engaged to another man. Under a starry sky in August, these two young people must find their way through hurt and pride to rediscover the love they once had.
